Car Parking At Harrogate Road Surgery

Following direct feedback from patients and via consultation with the Patient Participation Group regarding the lack of parking space availability, dangerously parked cars and misuse of the car park by non-patients, we have agreed to the installation of an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) parking system, provided by a specialist car park operator.

This will operate a permit based parking solution, with no cost to patients visiting the surgery or customer to the adjoining Lloyds Pharmacy.

This new parking system will be in operation from Monday 18th March 2019.

How it works

On entry to the car park, ANPR cameras will capture an image of your registration number against the time of entry.

When you enter the surgery to attend an appointment with a healthcare professional, collect a prescription or book an appointment, etc. you will be able to enter your registration number into a digital tablet located in the reception area.

You are only required to enter your registration number and nothing else, once completed this will register your vehicle for a 2-hour parking permit. If you have an appointment or treatment that will exceed the 2-hour permit period, please inform our reception team, who will be happy to extend the permit for you.

As you exit the car park, the ANPR camera will capture another image of your registration number, and terminate the parking period.

Don’t worry if you forget to do this when you’re in the surgery, you can contact the practice by telephone (within the same working day) and they will be happy to register your vehicle for the duration you were here, having verified your attendance via your patient record.

Patients should remember that the parking facility is only available for use when visiting the practice or purchasing goods from the Pharmacy. Use of the car park for any other purpose is not permitted, and the car park managing company will issue parking fines if such violations occur.

Permit parking enforcement will be in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. North Leeds Medical Practice have no involvement with the administration or issuing of parking fines, any queries regarding this should be directed to the operator.

Benefits

By introducing the ANPR parking solution, should reduce the misuse of the car park (such as users parking to visit the local shops and not the surgery) which in turn will increase the available parking spaces for patients; alleviating the issue of cars dangerously parked in the exit road and not in the allocated bays.

The car park and ANPR parking system is operated by Creative Parking Solutions, under the authority of the practice; they are an industry leader and an approved operator by the British Parking Association and a Park Mark Safer Parking award winner.

The car park of the Harrogate Surgery is operated by a third-party, therefore we are unable to help with any specific queries or challenges to parking enforcement notifications/fines.  All queries should be directed to the operator.
