NHS Health Check

All patients aged between 40 and 74 who don’t suffer from diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, ischaemic heart disease (angina or heart attack) or cerebrovascular disease (stroke) are welcome to have a cardiovascular check. Please make an appointment with the nurse or health care assistant.

Family Planning and Contraception Services

We offer advice on all methods of contraception at the surgery. We provide a service for the fitting and removal of the IUCD (coil) and the contraceptive implant. Please ask at reception for details.

Cervical Cytology (Smear Test)

All women aged between 25 and 64 should have regular cervical smears (every 3 years between the ages of 24 and 49; and every 5 years between the ages of 50 and 64; in accordance with the National Screening Policy). Please book an appointment with the nurse.

“Baby Clinic” & Mother Postnatal Checks

For developmental checks, such as the 6-8 weeks check, please make an appointment through reception. Mothers also receive postnatal checks.

For childhood immunisations please make an appointment with the nurse.

Antenatal Clinic

The clinic is run by the midwives from LTHT (Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust), community trust. If you become pregnant, please refer yourselves to the midwifes through mypregnancynotes.com when you find out you are pregnant, rather than booking an appointment through reception. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy either at the practice, at a local hospital or both.
